I’ve imported my Outlook 2011 Main Identity (4.68 GB) into Outlook 2016 on a computer running Mac OS 10.10.5. In place of Identities, how (and where) does Outlook 2016 store all of the data that it just imported from Outlook 2011?I still have several computers running OS 10.6.8 and Outlook 2011. I also have one running OS 10.10.5 with Outlook 2011 and another with OS 10.11.x with Outlook 2016.
All are using my office’s Exchange server to access my email account. I kept all of mycomputers running Outlook 2011 in synch via use of a third party backup program wherein I would backup myOutlook 2011 Main Identity to an external HD upon shut down of any of these computers. Then, before starting Outlook on a different computer, I’d backup the Main Identity to the Microsoft User Data folder on that computer. I always made sure thatOutlook wasn’t running when I did these backups. My reason for doing this was so that I could take advantage of the special features in Outlook that are only present on each individual computer — such as “you replied to.” with a link to the text of my reply. That information wasn't kept on the Exchange server.Due to their different architectures, I figure I cannot use the same practice to synch between Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2011.
However, I’m wondering if I could do something similar between two computers that are both running Outlook 2016? To do that, I needto know where Outlook 2016 stores its data. Hi Viola,Outlook 2016 for Mac stores messages and other items, such as calendar events, contacts, tasks, and notes, as a SQLite database in the /Users/username/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles folder. To view the location, you need to first unhide the Library folder.
Here are the instructions for unhiding it:Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the download you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to the download or the downloadedtechnology.
